Every Andaman holiday runs through Port Blair — officially Sri Vijaya Puram. It’s the only island with an airport, the hub for every ferry to Havelock and Neil, and where our office sits, on MG Road in Junglighat. When your flight lands at Veer Savarkar International Airport, we’re a fifteen-minute drive away, and that closeness is the whole point: we know which ferry is running today, which jetty it leaves from, and whether the sea’s calm enough for North Bay.
Most travellers give Port Blair a day at the start and half a day at the end, and that’s usually right. It isn’t a beach-lounging island — it’s the one with the history. The Cellular Jail is India’s most moving colonial-era memorial, and its evening light-and-sound show is genuinely worth planning your first night around. From here you’re perfectly placed for the classic day trips to Ross Island, North Bay, and — for the adventurous — Baratang. We’ll thread it all into your itinerary so nothing feels rushed.

Ross Island (Netaji Bose Island)
The old British administrative capital, now beautiful ruins wrapped in banyan roots, with tame deer and peacocks roaming free. A short boat ride from Aberdeen Jetty — pairs perfectly with North Bay.
Water sports
North Bay Island
Port Blair’s water-sports hub — sea walking, snorkelling and glass-bottom boat rides over live coral, all with life jackets and guides. The lighthouse here is the one printed on the ₹20 note.
Corbyn’s Cove Beach
The closest beach to town — a coconut-fringed curve about 15 minutes from the city, good for an easy first-evening stroll, a coffee, or a jet-ski ride before dinner.
Anthropological Museum
A small, genuinely fascinating museum on the indigenous tribes of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands — the Jarawa, Sentinelese and others. The context you’ll want before a Baratang day trip.
Chidiya Tapu Sunset
The “island of birds” at the southern tip — mangroves, forest trails and the finest sunset viewpoint near Port Blair. Go in the late afternoon to catch the birdlife and the light together.

- Flights into IXZ — Direct flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi and Hyderabad land at Veer Savarkar International Airport, 4 km from the city centre.
Ferries to Havelock & Neil — Private ferries (Makruzz, Nautika) and government boats leave from Haddo & Phoenix Bay jetties. Book the morning crossing — we lock seats in advance.- Day-trip jetties — Boats to Ross Island and North Bay leave from Aberdeen Jetty / the Water Sports Complex, right in town — an easy morning combo.
Getting around town — Your private cab covers all city sightseeing. Autos are handy for short hops; nothing in Port Blair is more than 30 minutes away.

How many days should I spend in Port Blair?
One full day at the start covers Cellular Jail (with the evening light-and-sound show) plus a half-day boat trip to Ross Island and North Bay. Keep a half-day at the end before your flight home. If you want to add a Baratang day trip or the Chidiya Tapu sunset, budget one extra day. The beaches of Havelock and Neil are where you’ll spend the rest of your holiday.
Is the Cellular Jail light-and-sound show worth it?
Yes — it’s the highlight of most travellers’ time in Port Blair. The show runs in the evening in Hindi and English on alternating slots, and seats fill up in peak season, so we book it as part of your first night. Visit the jail in daylight first to walk the wings, then come back for the show.
How do I get from Port Blair to Havelock and Neil?
By ferry. Private catamarans (Makruzz, Nautika) reach Havelock in about 2.5 hours and Neil in around 1.5 hours, with government ferries a cheaper option. All leave from Haddo / Phoenix Bay jetties in Port Blair. Seats on the popular morning crossings sell out early — we reserve them in advance as part of your package so you’re never left stranded at the counter.
